Next, in our series of team members we are getting to know more about here at Alamo Heights Dermatology is Taylre Sargent. Taylre hails from Los Angeles, California, and is our medical aesthetician with has a contagious passion for skincare. She has extensive, results-driven expertise, along with a desire to bring the best available treatments to her patients. Learn more about her personally and professionally in our interview with Taylre.
What was the inspiration behind you becoming an aesthetician?
Taylre: The Inspiration came from a young lady I became friends with many years ago who was a medical aesthetician. Seeing and hearing about all the treatments and how she was helping patients achieve their ultimate skincare goals. I then knew, ok, this is what I want to do! I always had a passion for skincare and medical aesthetics, so I went to school and became licensed!
What would surprise most people to know that is a part of your job?
Taylre: I think what surprises most people about my job is that there is so much an aesthetician can do, especially when experienced and certified in the medical field. It’s more than just facials. We can perform many different laser treatments, microneedling, body contouring procedures, and work with many kinds of medical practices.
What career highlight are you most proud of?
Taylre: I had a young patient who really struggled with acne for many years and had tried many treatments and products that did not achieve the desired result. That patient trusted the treatment plan I recommended, and after some time, we achieved that goal! To see their confidence soar after that was amazing. That patient also a year later went to aesthetic school and is thriving in the medical field now!
If you could have a favorite procedure, which one would you choose?
Taylre: I really love microneedling with PRP. It’s a great procedure that delivers excellent results, treats many different skin types, and addresses many skin concerns. Also, there is minimal downtime!
What is the best thing about working at Alamo Heights Dermatology?
Taylre: I love working at AHD because of the community! It’s great to be a part of a practice that continues to grow and delivers superior patient care and optimal results.

Taylre: Vitamin C, Retinol, and of course, an SPF!
Under what circumstances could someone benefit from seeing an aesthetician? Is there a suggested frequency, or just as needed?
Taylre: Everyone can benefit from visiting an aesthetician! There is a treatment plan for everyone’s concerns, whether for acne, anti-aging, pigment concerns, etc. The frequency is discussed during the initial appointment and would depend on each patient’s skincare goals.
What is your favorite guilty pleasure?
Taylre: Any dessert that is Red Velvet. Always in moderation!!!
